Game Rules

Welcome to Greek's Super Awesome Music Challenge Rules!

If you're reading this, chances are you really, really love music or, if you're like me, you just want people to know how awesome you are because you listen to, like, the best, totes most awesomest shizz out there.

There are rules for this challenge because, well, that's life, dummyhead. They are as follows:
  • Someone from the group will assign you an artist/band/troubadour/minstrel/etc., which then MUST be cosigned by another member.
  • If the selection process goes though, you are then to listen to their discography in chronological order with NO SKIPPING.
  • You may go back and re-listen to pieces you have already visited but as far as upward mobility is concerned, you must stay on track. Ugh, first-world problem, I KNOW, but think of all the fun, awful stuff your favorite bands are trying to hide from you!
  • We also understand that some artists have quite a plethora of work so our definition of "discography" includes the following:
  •  --All Studio Albums by initial artist/band
  •  --All proper albums by any of the artist/band's side projects, solo albums, and collaborations.*
  •  --All soundtracks that are comprised of original score that was written specifically for a particular production.**
  • You can't listen to any other music while you do this. Talk radio, standup, podcasts, etc are fine but meh you're just delaying the inevitable so you may as well stay on course.
  • If someone else with you puts something else on, that's ok. But let em know how much their taste in music sucks. Unless they put on something cool, then just make it some sort of back-handed compliment, like, "oh I like this album, but i would love it if you had cooler shoes."
  • If two players happen to be married/dating/slappin dirties, then they may alternate their selections if they choose to play together. Duh-doi.
  • Players can also turn down an assignment but then must fulfill the subsequent request.
  • Players must also post when they have finished their task and or write a short final culmination of your jouney.
Whew! That's quite a lot of rules for what should just be fun and games, right? Well just shut up and obey or you're fired from interwebs.

Also, once an assignment is done and blogged about, that group is back up for grabs for someone else. This will give more than one outlook on each artist. For every one assignment you complete you can choose your next one. Any questions? No? Good! Now get to listening, you little jerk!

*This, however, is limited to the lead singer or standout performer in the group. For example, someone was given Neil Young. This would include every one of his solo studio albums, as well as those of Buffalo Springfield and CSNY.
**Just film score, i.e. you get NIN/Trent Reznor, don't worry about Natural Born Killers but be sure to include The Social Network, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, etc.
